What is my timeline for filing an appeal?
You have seven business days. Your letter must be postmarked by the seventh business day after you received your outcome letter. Our office is open during school breaks, so those are considered business days. Holidays and weekends do not count as business days.
May I fax or email my appeal letter?
No. Your letter must include your original signature in ink. Mail or bring it to Conflict Resolution and Student Conduct Services, 325 Aylesworth Hall NW, Fort Collins, CO 80523-8015.
May my attorney write my appeal letter?
Yes. Notify your attorney the letter must be postmarked by the seventh business day after you received your outcome letter, or the appeal will be denied.
May I attend the Appeal Committee meeting?
Only if you are requested to do so by the Chair of the University Discipline Panel.
After I submit my appeal, may I contact the University Discipline Panel Chair directly?
No. Your appeal letter is your opportunity to contact the Chair. However, the Chair may contact you if s/he needs further input from you.
When will I receive the outcome of my appeal?
You will receive a letter from the University Discipline Panel Chair after s/he has thoroughly researched your situation. Since the position is voluntary, firm deadlines are not imposed.
