Emergency Consultation Team
Committee that is convened when an incident involving a student occurs that could cause harm to the student, other students, staff, faculty or the community. The team recommends and initiates responses that provide for the well-being, safety, and respect of those involved.
Examples of situations in which the Emergency Consultation Team could be convened include but are not limited to a student that is exhibiting disruptive behavior in multiple campus settings, a student who has expressed a desire to hurt themselves or others, or a student who has significant mental health concerns.
Standing members of this team include the Director of Conflict Resolution and Student Conduct Services, the Director of the University Counseling Center, and the Captain of the CSU Police Department. Other members are invited to the consultation based on the nature of the difficulty. The purpose of the team is to provide a thorough examination of issues and options for response with the goal of providing the best possible assistance to the student and protection for the university environment.
This committee is typically convened upon a faculty or staff contacting the office of Conflict Resolution and Student Conduct Services, the University Counseling Center, or the CSU Police Department.
